The story of Bali Desa Wisata began in 2004 in the small village of Sibetan, nestled in the eastern part of Bali. Known for its vast snakefruit (Salacca) plantations, Sibetan is a place where the beauty of nature and the strength of Balinese culture are deeply intertwined. It was here that I Nengah Purnanta, a local Balinese, embarked on his journey in the tourism industry.

Starting as a caretaker at a villa, Purnanta quickly advanced through various roles including front officer, data entry specialist, and reservation manager. His passion for Bali and dedication to sharing its unique culture led him to become a travel designer, curating unforgettable experiences for travelers from the US, Canada, Europe, Asia, and India. With over a decade of experience in tourism and hospitality, Purnanta, along with his friends, was inspired to develop and promote rural tourism in Bali—highlighting the island’s hidden gems while ensuring the sustainability of its culture.
